BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Southeast Bay and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal remained practically stationary and is centred at about (110)miles Southwest of Coco Island, (235) miles Southwest of Hainggyikyun (Myanmar) and (80)miles Northwest of Port Blair(India). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 8th January, 2019: Weather will be isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Sagaing Region, Kachin ,Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional Squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States.
