SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Napyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Mon States.The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Maungdaw (5.27)inches, Kyauktaw (4.61)inches, Manaung (4.49)inches, Hinthada (4.29)inches, Tiddim (3.31)inches, Myauk U and Yay (3.11)inches each, Thandwe (3.03)inches, Sittwe (2.75)inches and Kyeikkhame (2.56)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th AUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
