BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs MST today, the tropical storm “Bebinca” over the South China Sea has reached to Gulf of Tonkin, its centered at about (80)miles South of Hanoi (Vietnam) and it is forecast to move Westwards.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 17thAUGUST, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35 - 40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-10) tin off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago Region, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
