BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (06:30) MST today, the tropical storm “Son-tinh” over the South China Sea, has crossed Vietnam Coast near Vinh (Vietnam) and it is forecast to move Westwards and gradually weaken.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago,Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10 - 14) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5 - 7) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State.
