SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kyauktaw (6.38)inches, Maungdaw (4.96)inches, Khayan (4.84)inches, Kyeikkhame (4.53)inches, Thaton  (3.43)inches, Hlegu (3.31)inches, Hmawbi (3.19)inches, Gwa (3.15)inches, Hpa-an and Mudon (2.87)inches each, Paletwa (2.83)inches, Theinzayet (2.80)inches, Kyeikmayaw (2.48)inches, Kalay (2.44)inches, Paung (2.36)inches, Belin (2.32)inches, Myauk U and Mawlamyine (2.28)inches, Manaung (2.17)inches and Thayat (2.13)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th JULY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mon and Kayin States and isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 – 10)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Coastal areas.
