SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kachin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan  and Mon States, scattered in Northern  Shan and Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in  Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Southern Shan and Rakhine States, (2°C) above May average temperature in Chin State and (2°C) below May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (44°C) in Chauk, (42°C) each in Monywa and Pauk The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Hainggyigyun (4.25)inches, Gwa (2.09)inches, Nyaung Shwe, Gyobingaukm Hmawbi and Myeik (1.34)inches each, Coco-Island and Dawei (1.22)inches each, Yangon(North Dagon) and Pyarpon (1.19)inches each, Taunggu (1.06)inches, Kawthaung (0.90)inch, Namsam, Myinmu and Myitsone (0.83)inch each, Okpho (0.80)inch, Hkamti and Kayan (0.79)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, yesterday’s the low pressure area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists over the Southeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and  Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 12)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama and Mon-Taninthayi Coasts, about (4 - 8)feet in Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State.
