SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in (Northern and Southern)Shan and Mon States, scattered in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and  Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperatures in Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Kayah  States, (2°C) above May average temperature in Mandalay  Region and  about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) in Chauk and (41°C) in Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Mingin (1.57)inches, Sittwe (1.30)inches, Monyin (1.22)inches, Homalin (1.18)inches, Moemate (1.02)inches, Namsam (0.95)inch, Madauk (0.83)inch, Chaungsone (0.79)inch, Putao, Kalewa and Pinlaebu (0.75)inch each and Yay (0.59)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of the advancement of Southwest Monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
