SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TO TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershower have been fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Mon, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Southern Shan States, isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 2°C above April average temperature in Kachin State, 2°C below April average temperatures in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin State and 3°C below April average temperatures in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.3°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Kawkareik, 39.4°C in Aunglan, 38.5°C each in Nyaunglaybin, Taungdwingyi and Myinmu, 38.3°C in Magway, 38.0°C each in Tharrawady, Sagaing and Hinthada, 37.8°C in Ngathaichaung and 37.7°C in Zaungtu on 19-4-2025. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 0.67 inch each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Kyangin(Seiktha), 0.59 inch in Kyeikmayaw, 0.51 inch in Aunglan, 0.43 inch in Kengtung, 0.35 inch in Mudon, 0.31 inch in Thayat, 0.24 inch each in Laiway, Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), Kanbalu and Myanaung.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st April 2025: Rain or thundershower will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, Southern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershower will be fairly widespread to widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States.
