SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Yangon Region, scattered in Magway, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States, isolated in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and Shan State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperatures in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions,  (2°C)above May average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region, Northern Shan and Chin States and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperature were (41°C) in Bawlakhae, (40°C) in Tharrawady. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Monyin and Central Yangon (0.98)inch each, Yangon (Mingaladon) (0.95)inch, Matupi (0.87)inch, Kyaukme and Sittwe (0.71)inch each, Maungdaw (0.60)inch, Saw (0.56), Ngathaichaung (0.55) inch, Paletwa (0.51)inch and Hmawbi (0.43)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few clouds over the Andaman Sea the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, scattered Mandalay, Magway, Yangon  and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 16th MAY, 2018: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).
