23-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

   

Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Southern Myanmar Areas during (16-21) of May,  Deltaic Areas during (22-27) of May and Central Myanmar Areas during (28 May – 2 June) . Two Low Pressure Areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into the Depression.  During this monsoon period, monsoon will be moderate. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

 

Rain Conditions and Rainy Days

          Rain will be expected below normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and  about normal in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and  Kachin, Northern Shan and  Chin States.

            Rainy days will be expected 15 to 22 days in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine  and  Mon States, 9 to 14 days in   Nay Pyi Taw, Lower Sagaing, Magway, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions,  Shan, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States.

Day  Temperature

          Day temperature will be (1.5 °C) above normal of May average maximum temperature  in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Bago and Yangon, Ayayarwady Regions and Southern and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and about normal of May average maximum temperature in Sagaing Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
