23-11-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over East Equatorial India Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal around 25-11-2024. Thereafter, its likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu(India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Bay of Bengal Condition

Southwest monsoon is likely to set in Deltaic Area during 29th of May to 2nd of June, Central Myanmar area during (3-6) of June and the whole country during (7-10) of June. Two low pressure areas may form over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression. During this period, monsoon will be moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Rain Condition and Rainy Days

Rain or thundershowers are likely above normal in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and about normal in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.

Rainy days are expected about (22) to (28) days in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, (15) to (21) days in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Chin, Kayah States and (8) to (14) days in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions.
