Low Pressure Area (No.06/2020)

According to the observations at (18:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over Gulf off the Thailand is moving to westwards. It is likely to cross Southern Thailand and Southern Myanmar areas on tonight. It is forecast to reach the Andaman Sea at (9.10.2020).
General Caution
Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls. Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts during commencing night today to (13.10.2020).

Due to the low pressure area, people should be aware heavy rainfall with strong wind, flash flood and landslide near the hilly areas and also small rivers.
