19-5-2024Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining the Southeast Bay of Bengal around (22.10.2022) and into a Deep Depression on (23.10.2022). It is recurve Northwards and intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over Westcentral and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal around (24.10.2022). It is likely to move North-Northeastwards and reach near West Bengal, (India)- Bangladesh Coasts on (25.10.2022).

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershower in Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States, isolated to scattered rain or thundershower in Naypyitaw, Madalay Region and Kayin, Mon States with regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some regions. Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experience off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Therefore, due to the speed of the Low Pressure Area, strong wind and rain accompanied by rain and thundershower may occur. People should be awared domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
