21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (21:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over North Andaman Sea (Gulf of Martaban). It is likely to intensify and move Northeastwards.

General caution

Due to the low pressure area, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls and isolated heavy falls from tonight to (23.5.2022). Occasionally squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (9-13) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

Due to the low pressure area, people should be aware strong wind with regionally heavyfalls and isolated heavyfallsand domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.
