21-12-2024: According to the observations at (03:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal further intensified into a Depression and reached over Westcentral Bay of Bengal(off Andhra Pradesh coast). It is centered at about 565 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South of Visakhapatnam(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

          According to the observations at (06:30) hrs MST today, the  depression over Northeast Bay of Bengal has slightly moved to Northeastwards and it is centered at about (55)miles Southwest of Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh), (85)miles South-Southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh), (75)miles Northwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar) and (115)miles Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar ). 

          Although the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage, it is closed to the extreme Northern Rakhine coast .There will be issued on the significant condition in timely.

 Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

          Depression is located at Lattitude (21.1) degree North and Longitude (91.1)degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (994) hatopascal and maximum wind speed near the center is (45)miles per hour at (6:30) hrs MST today.

 General caution

          Under the influence of the depression, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, and Rakhine States with regionally heavy falls, strong wind and flesh flood.

         Rain or thundershowers are likely to be widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States with isolated heavy falls, strong wind and flesh flood.

       Frequently squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and alongMyanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) to (45) m.p.h.

Advisory

         Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised to avert possible condition.
