21-12-2024:According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal continues has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about 510 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 230 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam (India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Depression Condition

            According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the interior of West Bengal (India) has slowly moved Westwards now lies over Jharkhand(India) still persists. 

During next (36) hrs forecast

The Deep Depression is likely to move slowly West-Northwestwards and weaken into a Depression during next 6 hours and may cross continue inland of India during next 36 hours.

General caution

Due to the Deep Depression, rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Rakhine States with heavy rainfalls from today morning to next (24) hrs. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

 

Advisory

Under the influence of deep depression, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
