Deep Depression Condition
According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards and is centered at about (425) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Hainggyigyun, (410) Nautical miles West of Thandwe, (350) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (150) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Paradip, (225) Nautical miles South of Digha (India), (300) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Depression is coded yellow stage.
Position of Deep Depression, center pressure and wind
Deep Depression is located at Latitude (17.9) degree North and Longitude (87.2) degree East, centre pressure of Deep Depression is (1001) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35-40) miles per hour at (17:30) hrs MST today.
During next (60) hrs forecast
The Deep Depression is likely continue to move North-Northeastwards and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next (6) hrs. It is likely to cross Bangladesh coast between Khepupara and Chittagong on (25.10.2023) evening.
General caution
Due to the Deep Depression, Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Chin and Rakhine States, scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Shan State with isolated heavy falls in some Regions and States. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast from commencing today noon to (25.10.2023).
