Deep Depression

 

According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards andcentered at about (200) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Port Blair, (520) Nautical miles Southeast of Vishakhapatnam, (550) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Puri, (India), (290) Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island and (400) Nautical miles Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the deep depression is coded yellow stage.

 

Position of deep depression, center pressure and wind

            Deep depression is located at Latitude (11.4) degree North and Longitude (89.3) degree East, centre pressure of deep depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hourat (05:30)hrs MST today.

 

During next (72) hrs forecast

The deep depression is likely to intensify into a Cyclonic Storm over the Southeast Bay of Bengal during next (12) hours and into a Severe Cyclonic Storm over the East Central Bay of Bengal during next (24) hours. It is forecast continuous to move Northwestwards and reach to West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal (off north Andhra­-PradeshOdisha coasts, India) around (10.5.2022) and recurve to North-Northeastwards and reach to Northwest Bay of Bengal (off Odisha coast, India). 

 

General caution

Due to the deep depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, AyeyarwadyRegions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and scattered in the remaining Regions and Stateswith likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States from today morning to (12.5.2022).Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along MyanmarCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along MyanmarCoasts.

Due to the deep depression, people should be aware rain or thundershowers with strong wind and domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships in off and along MyanmarCoasts.
