Deep Depression
According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about (500)miles East-Southeast of Chennai (India), about (585) miles Southeast of Machilipatnam and about (365) miles East of Triconmalee (Sri Lanka).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the deep depression is coded yellow stage.
Position of deep depression, center pressure and wind
Deep depression is located at Latitude (8.5) degree North and Longitude (87.4) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1002) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour.
During next (12)hrs forecast
It is forecast to move Northwestwards and it may further intensify into a cyclonic storm during next (12) hours.
General caution
Due to the deep depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States within next (72) hours commencing today noon.
Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
People should be awared trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
