30-11-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 755 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 50 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 55 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

Condition of Deep Depression

            According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Central and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has further intensified into a deep depression and moved over East Central Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (260)miles Southwest of Pathein, (310)miles Southwest of Kyaukphyu, (325)miles Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (440)miles South-Southwest of Chittagong (Bangladesh) and forecast to move Northeast wards. It is forecast to intensify  into a cyclonic storm during next (24)hrs.

The present stage of deep depression is coded Orange stage as it may move near the Rakhine coast, Myanmar.

 Position of Deep Depression, Center pressure and wind

            Deep Depression is located at Latitude (15.2) degree North and Longitude (90.5) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (998) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (40-45)miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

 General caution

            Under the influence of deep depression, fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Nay Pyi Taw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and scattered rain or thundershowers in the remaining Ragions and States with ragionally heavyfall, isolated heavyfall and strong wind during next (72) hours.

            Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.

Advisory

Under the influence of deep depression, strong wind, heavy rainfall, flash flood and landslide may occur during this time. Advisory for people living near high land areas, small river and streams is to take care of landslide and suddenly rise the rivers levels. Domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to notice  in condition of the deep depression.
