SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Southern Shan, Chin and Kayin States and widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah and Mon States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Myeik (5.63)inches, Launglone (3.03)inches, Kunlong (2.76)inches, Manaung and Dawei (2.56)inches each,  Thandwe (1.89)inches, Madauk and Kawthong (1.38)inches each, Chaungsone (1.34)inches, Hlainggyikyun (1.30)inches, Paung (1.22)inches and Taungkok (1.18)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Odisha and West Bengal Coast(India).It is forecast to further intensify during next (24)hrs. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th June, 2017: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, (Eastern and Southern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan, Chin and Kayah States, widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainly is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7 - 10) feet along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
