SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T:
During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into
the Central Myanmar Areas and North Bay of Bengal. Rain or
thundershowers have been isolated in Kachin State, scattered
in Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Kayah
States and fairly widespread in Magway, Yangon and Taninthayi
Regions, (Southern and Northern) Shan and Chin States,
widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally
heavy falls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavy falls in
Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions and Mon State.
The observed highest Ultra Violet indexes were Naypyitaw (6.3),
Yangon (7.2) and Mandalay (3.4). The noteworthy amounts of
rainfall recorded were Tharrawady (3.66)inches, Chaungsone
(3.23)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.99)inches, Yamethin (2.68)inches,
Okkan (2.36)inches, Shwebo (1.89)inches, Tatkon (1.57)inches
and Thazi (1.55) inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea
and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 3rd June, 2016: Rain
or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin
and Chin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway and
Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the
remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw,
Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Mon State. Degree of
certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar
waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon.
