SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Tanithayi Region, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Thandwe (9.02)inches, Yay (5.36)inches, Launglon (4.57)inches, Gwa and Chaungsone (3.86)inches each, Kyeikmayaw (3.74)inches, Mudon (3.70)inches, Paung (3.58)inches, Kyeikkhame (3.54)inches, Dawei (3.42)inches, Zalun (3.35)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (3.22)inches and Coco-Island (3.07)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th JUNE, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Kayin State.
