SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Yangon Region, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, (Eastern and Southern)Shan and Rakhine States and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) each in Myinmu, Myingyan, Chauk and Taungdwingyi. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Monyin (2.40) inches, Moemate (1.77)inches, Thaton (1.65)inches, Pinlaebu (1.26)inches, Kyauktaw (0.98)inch, Paletwa (0.87)inch, Chaungsone (0.79) inch, Hlaingtat (0.75)inch, Naungcho and Phyarpon (0.63)inch each.  

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few clouds to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th MAY, 2018: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and (Northern and Southern)Shan States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3- 5) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.
