Cyclonic Storm Condition
According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” which crossing interior near Matupi, Chin State (Myanmar) and moved to North-Northeastwards and weakened into a Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA”. It is continue to move North-Northeastwards near Katha, Upper Sagaing Region.
It is reaching near Katha, Upper Sagaing Region (Myanmar) and continues to move North-Northeastwards the present stage for Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan States is coded brown stage. The Cyclonic Storm has crossed to Rakhine and Chin States, the present stage for Rakhine and Chin States is coded green stage.
During next (12) hours forecast
The Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” is likely to weaken into land depression during next (6) hours and continue to move North-Northeastwards and reach to Sagaing, Northern Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States. Thereafter it is likely weaken into a low pressure area over Kachin.

- Due to the Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA”, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, AyeyarwadyRegions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, RakhineStates and fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with regionally heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, MagwayRegions and Kachin, Shan, ChinStates and isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, AyeyarwadyRegions and Rakhine Statefrom today morning tonext (24) hours.
- Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45) m.p.hand wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
- Themaximum wind speed may reach (40) mph in Sagaing, Mandalay, Regions and Kachin, Shan Statesand (25-30) mph in Naypyitaw, Magway, BagoRegions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States.
- The areas alongthe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” movement, people should be awared of strong wind, heavy rain, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
