21-12-2024: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal(off Andhra Pradesh coast)has moved East-Northeastwards and  now lies over Westcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about 520 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 235 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam(India). The centre pressure of Depression is (1003) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (30-35) miles per hour. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Condition of Depression

            According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Westcentral Bay moved North-Northwestwards and its centered at about (50)miles South-Southeast of Visakhapatnam and (150) miles Southwest of Gopalpur (India).

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the depression is coded yellow stage.

Position of depression, Center pressure and wind

            Depression is located at Latitude (17.0) degree North and Longitude (83.3) degree East, Centre pressure of depression is (1001) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (35) miles per hour at (06:30) hrs MST today.

Next (36)hours Forecast

            It has moved North-Northeast wards. It is forecast to close near North Andhra Pradesh­ -South Odisha coasts (India) and weaken gradually thereafter during next (36)hours.

Under the influence of depression, fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Shan States during next (36) hours.                

Advisory

Trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to notice  in condition of the depression.
