29-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and has intensified into a Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL”. It is centered at about 680 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 160 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 150 Nautical miles East-Southeast of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

Southwest monsoon is likely to advance in Central and Northern Myanmar Areas during first (10) days of June. Monsoon is likely moderate to strong in the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain Conditions and Rainy Days

Above normal rain are likely in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, below normal in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin and Shan States and about normal in the remaining Regions and States.

Rainy days are expected about (7) to (9) days in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and (2) to (4) days in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin and Shan States and (4) to (6) day in the remaining Regions and States.
