20-12-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal now lies over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 36 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Deep Depression

According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Southwest Bay of Bengal has almost stationary. It is centered at about 730 Nautical miles West-Southwest of CoCo Island (Myanmar), 265 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai (India). The centre pressure of Deep Depression is 999 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 35-40 miles per hour.

It does not intend to move towards Myanmar coasts at the present stage and therefore the Deep Depression is coded as yellow stage.

Forecast

 It is likely to move North-Northwestwards and may cross near Sri Lanka Coast and further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm  during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is Likely to continue to move north-northwestwards and  may cross North Tamil Nadu- Puducherry Coasts(India) as a Deep Depression  around of 30-11-2024.

Due to the Deep Depression, rain are likely to be isolated to scatted in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah States from today morning up to 30-11-2024.
