Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”
According to the observations at (22:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” over the Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and intensified into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”. It is centered at about (415) Nautical miles Northwest of Pathein, about (280) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), about (90) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip and about (130) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha (India).
It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm“YAAS” is coded yellow stage.

The Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” is likely to move North-Northwestwards and forecast to cross between North Odisha and West Bengal Coasts by during next (24)hrs.

Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine States with isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State during next (48)hrs commencing tonight.
Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -17)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (9-13)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
