11-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Preassure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal(off Sri Lanka Coast) still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may reach over Sri Lanka - Tamil Nadu Coasts, India, during next 12 hrs. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea, Westcentral and Southwest Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN)

            According to the observations at (15:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwest wards slowly and reached to South Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (525)Nautical miles South of Paradadip(Odisha-India), about (605) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha(india),  about (665) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about (455)Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco-Island and about (595) Nautical miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar).

   It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) is coded yellow stage.

            Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) is located at Latitude (11.5) degree North and Longitude (86.0) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (988) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (70)miles per hour at (15:30) hrs MST today.

During next (24)hrs Forecast

            The Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) is likely to intensify into a Very Severe Cyclonic Strom during next (12)hrs. It is forecast to re-curve North-Northeastwards.

Rainfall Forecast

            Due to the SevereCyclonic Storm(AMPHAN), rain or thundershowers will be scattered to fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon,  Ayeyarwady and Thanintharyi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States during  (17.5.2020) to (21.5.2020).

Sea Condition Forecast

            Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, RakhineCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Deltaic, RakhineCoasts.Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely attime off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.

            Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN), people from trawlers, vessels, ships off and along Myanmar Coasts should be aware squall and rough seas condition and also should be aware domestic flight  for severeweather condition.
