30-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about 695 Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island (Myanmar), 115 Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai and 110 Nautical miles East of Puducherry (India). Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea.

According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm (PHETHAI) over the Westcentral Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards and is centered at about (140)miles Northeast of Chennai (India), about (115) miles Southeast of Machilipatnam and about (145) miles South of Kakinada.  
It is not moving towards Myanmar Coasts, the present stage of the Severe Cyclonic Storm is coded yellow stage.

Severe Cyclonic Storm is located at Latitude (14.5)degree North and Longitude (82.2)degree East, centre pressure of Severe Cyclonic Storm is (993)hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is (65) miles per hour.

During next (12)hrs forecast

It is forecast to move North-Northwestwards.

General caution

Due to the Severe Cyclonic Storm, rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered to fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, isolated in the Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan and Rakhine States within next (48) hours commencing today morning.
Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 - 9) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
