17-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and reach to North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India during next 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly Northwards and move along Andhra Pradesh Coast during 48 hours. Weather is generally fair over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (14:30)hrs M.S.T today, due to the  Easterly wave and a low pressure may form over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavyfalls in some Regions and States with strong wind from (28.9.2023) to (3.10.2023).

Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

Advisory

Due to the  Easterly wave and a low pressure may form over the North Andaman Sea and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, people should be awared heavy rain with strong wind, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and also domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts.
