BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Saola” over the South China Sea is slowly moving West-Northwestwards. It may reach the near Southern coast of China during next (24)hrs.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 01st September 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
