23-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay(off South Andhra Pradesh and North Tamil Nadu Coasts) still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal(near North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts, India) during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastern Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past(24) hours, rain has been fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, isolated in Yangon Region,Chin and Mon States,  weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing , Bago andAyeyarwady Regions and Shan, Kayah and  Kayin States and  generally fair inthe remaining Regions and States. Night temperatureswere (3°C) to (4°C) aboveJanuary average temperatures in  Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan,Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and   about January average temperatures in the remaining Regionsand States. The significant night temperature were (0°C) in Hakha, (4°C) in each  Putao, Pinlaung, Pyinoolwin and Moekok. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthong (0.94) inch,Mindat and Coco Island in each (0.08) inch.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area overSouth Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to further intensifyinto a depression during next (48)hrs. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and West Central Bay andpartly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 8th January, 2017: Rain will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region,isolated in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin,Shan, Chin, Kayah and kayin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions

and States.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off andalong Mon - Taninthayi Coast.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewherein Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decreases of night temperature in Upper Sagaing, Kachin,Shan and Chin States.
