BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and West Central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 4th January, 2017: Rain will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of isolated to scattered rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan and Rakhine States.
