SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain has been scattered in Taninthayi Region, weather has been generally fair in Lower Sagang and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Chin and Kayah States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Bago Region, Southern Shan, Kayin and Mon States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (3°C) in Hakha, (6°C) in Naungcho and (7°C) in Putao. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded was Kawthong (0.56)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, a low pressure area over the South Andaman sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea, Southeast and East central Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th December, 2016: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Chin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Easterly squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in easterly squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
