25-11-2024: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the well marked low pressure area over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining East Equatorial Indian Ocean has moved West-Northwestwards and now lies over South Bay of Bengal.  It is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards and may further intensify into a depression during next 12 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move Northwestwards and may reach to Tamil Nadu (India)-Sri Lanka coasts during next 2 days. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

Cyclonic Storm

According to the observations at (18:30) hrs MST today, the cyclonic strom “Nada” over Southwest Bay and adjoning Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwest wards. It is centered at about (320)miles Southeast of Chennai (India), (300)miles Southeast of Puducherry (India) and (190)miles East-Northeast of Trincomalee (Srilanka). It is forecast to move West-Northwest wards.

It is not moving towards Myanmar coasts, the present stage of the cyclonic storm is coded yellow stage.

Position of cyclonic storm, Center pressure and wind

Cyclonic Storm is located at Latitude (9.5) degree North and Longitude (84.3) degree East, centre pressure of depression is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (40) miles per hour at (18:30) hrs MST today.

It is forecast likely to cross north Tamil Nadu coast between Vedaranniyam and Puducherry in the morning of 2nd December, 2016.
