22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States, Scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Chin and Mon States and widespared in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) (2.44)inches, Falam (2.05)inches, Myawady (1.93)inches, Tatkon (1.77) inches, Naungcho (1.73)inches, Madaya (1.65)inches, Yay (1.61)inches, Yangon(Kaba-aye) and Dawei (1.54)inches each, Kyeikkhame (1.46)inches and Khayan (1.38)inches.

 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over the Westcentral Bay of Bengal is centered at about (165)miles Southeast of Visakhapatnam and (230)miles East of Machillipatnam, India. It is forecast to move West-Southwest wards and weaken into a depression during next (24)hours.Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and West central Bay and partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th October, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Mon State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40)m.p.h.

 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
