22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Rakhine State, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) (1.66)inches, Naungcho (1.10)inches, Tatkon and Lashio (0.94)inch each, Naypyitaw(Otarathiri) and Thaton (0.83)inch each and Monywa (0.74)inch.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the cyclonic storm over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal “KYANT” has moved to West-Southwest. It is centered at about (360)miles West-Southwest of  Pathein, (355)miles West-Southwest of Gwa, (335)miles Southwest of Kyaukpyu, Myanmar and (310)miles East-Southeast of Visakhapatnam and (425)miles East-Northeast of Machillipatnam, India. It is forecast to move West-Southwest wards. Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th October, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35)m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Mon State.
