SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, (Northern and Southern) Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States, scattered in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay and Magway Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Phyarpon (2.91)inches, Yangon(North Dagon) (2.17)inches, Gangaw (2.01)inches, Chauk (1.89)inches, Sinphyugyun (1.81)inches, Zalun (1.77)inches, Htilin (1.75)inches, Hinthada (1.73)inches, Ngathayouk(Agro) (1.69) inches, Nyaung Oo (1.54)inches and Kungyangon (1.50)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved to North wards. It is centered at about (135)miles North - Northwest of Coco-Island, (70)miles West - Northwest of Hainggyikyun, (90)miles West - Southwest of Pathein, (105)miles Southwest of Gwa and (175)miles West - Southwest of Yangon, Myanmar. It is forecast to further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next (24)hrs and reach near Myanmar Coast (Deltaic and Southern Rakhine areas), recurve and continue North – Northwest wards.Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th October, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, Shan, Chin, Kayah and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40)m.p.h.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine State.
