Storm Warning
According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved to North wards. It is centered at about (135)miles North - Northwest of Coco-Island, (70)miles West – Northwest of Hainggyikyun, (90)miles West - Southwest of Pathein, (105)miles Southwest of Gwa and (175)miles West - Southwest of Yangon, Myanmar.
As it is close to Myanmar Coast (Deltaic and Southern Rakhine areas), the present stage of the deep depression is coded red stage on this condition.
Position of deep depression, Centre pressure and wind
Deep depression is located at about Latitude (16.4) degree North and Longitude (93.2) degree East, it’s centre pressure is (1000) hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is about (40)miles per hour at (10:30) hrs MST today.
Forecast for next (24)hours
It is forecast to further intensify into a Cyclonic Storm during next (24)hrs and reach near Myanmar Coast (Deltaic and Southern Rakhine areas), recurve and continue North – Northwest wards.
General caution
As the deep depression is close to Myanmar Coast (Deltaic and Southern Rakhine areas), maximum wind speed will be (40) mph in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State.
The probable maximum storm surge is about (2 - 5) feet at Labutta district in Ayeyarwady Region, Thandwe district in Southern Rakhine State.
Under the influence of the deep depression, rain or thundershowers are likely to be scattered in Naypyitaw and Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthyi Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States during 25th October to 27th October, 2016.
Occasional squalls with rough sea will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h.
Advisory
Under the influence of the deep depression, as strong wind and heavy fall may occur during this time, domestic flight, trawlers, vessels and ships off and along Myanmar Coasts are advised especially to avert in this condition.
