22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin, Shan (North and East) and Kayah States, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Yangon Regions and Mon State, scattered in Mandalay and Bago Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthong (1.93)inches, Myeik (1.77)inches, Launglone (1.42)inches, Nyaunglaybin and Kyeikkhame (1.26)inches each, Manaung and Hlaingbwe (1.22)inches each, Sagaing (1.18)inches, Belin (1.14)inches and  Pathein (1.10)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:00)hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Eastcentral Bay and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal has moved over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (165)miles West-Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar). (295)miles Southwest of  Pathein (Myanmar), (370)miles Southwest of Yangon (Myanmar) and (190)miles Northwest of Port Blair(India). It is forecast to move East-Northeast wards and further intensify into a cyclonic storm during next (48)hrs.Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd October, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kachin and Northern Shan States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan (East and South), Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuous of increase of rain in Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
