22-12-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal partly and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Taninthayi Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthong (3.78)inches, Pinlaebu (2.87)inches, Kanbalu (2.01)inches, Meikhtila and Zayarthiri (Yezin) (1.38)inches each and Maungdaw (1.26)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the North and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, Tropical Storm“ SARIKA” over Bay of Tonkin move towards Norhtwest wards. It is forecast to cross Upper Vietnam near Hanoi and downgrade during next (24) hours.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th October, 2016: Weather is partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and Yangon Regions, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltic, Gulf of Mottama off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate in elsewhere Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase rain or thundershowers in Taninthayi Region.
