22-12-2024: According to the observations at (15:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West-Southwestwards and reach to Southwest Bay of Bengal(North Tamil Nadu and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts)India during 24-12-2024. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in  Kachin State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, (Eastern and Southern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Hliangbwe (2.79)inches, Kawthong (2.75)inches, Yangon Kabaaye (2.68)inches, Kyaukphyu (2.20) inches, Kyaukbataung (1.92)inches, Maungaung (1.89)inches, Labutta (1.85)inches and Sittwe (1.62)inches.

 

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Bay and monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States  with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region.  Degree of certainty is (80%).

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of decrease of rain in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions.
