SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Shan(North and South) and Kayin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Kachin and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Magway Region and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Coco Island (4.13) inches, Phyarpon (3.70) inches, Hkamti (2.83)inches, Nyaung Oo (2.63)inches, Kyeikkhame (2.60)inches, Kawthong (2.48)inches, Aunglan (2.44)inches, Htilin (2.28) inches, Mawlaik (2.20)inches and Kalaywa (2.09)inches.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal has moved to coastal Andhra Pradesh, India. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kachin and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuous of Thundery activities in the Central Myanmar Areas.
