SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Southern and Northern) Shan, Chin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Magway and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Homalin (4.72) inches, Myeik (3.15) inches, Hakha (2.71)inches, Mawlaik (2.64)inches, Magway (2.56)inches, Gwa (2.40)inches, Ngazun (1.78)inches, Kawthong (1.65) inches, Myitkyina (1.57)inches and Tharzi (1.55)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and feeble elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State.
