SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Southern Shan and Kayah States and  widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Kawthong (2.91)inches, Homalin (2.56)inches, Maungdaw (2.52)inches, Paing Kyone (2.42) inches, Labutta (2.40)inches, Putao and Hainggyikyun (2.32) inches each, Yay (2.28)inches and Chaungsone (2.09)inches.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of  Bengal. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th September, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Rakhine State.
