30-11-2024: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “FENGAL” over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westwards. It is centered at about 765 Nautical miles West of Coco Island (Myanmar), 45 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Chennai and 40 Nautical miles East-Northeast of Puducherry (India). The centre pressure of Cyclonic Storm is 994 hPa and maximum wind speed near the center is 50 miles per hour. Weather is cloudy over the Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West central Bay of  Bengal still persists. Monsoon is weak over the North Bay and moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 27th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Rakhine States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Kachin and Shan State.
