SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway and Yangon Regions, Chin and Rakhine Sates, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were Paingkyone (3.62)inches, Taunggyi (2.40)inches, Hlaingbwe (2.01)inches, Mawlamyine (1.45)inches, Namsam (1.38)inches, Thipaw, Loilin, Mudon and Kyeikkhame (1.34)inches each.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th August, 2016: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Kachin and Kayah States, widespread in the remaining Regions and States.
