SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the

past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region, rain

or thundershower have been isolated in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions,

Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Bago Region

and Chin State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally

heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in

Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts

of rainfall recorded were Kyeikmayaw (6.25)inches, Pathein (5.59)inches,

Paung (4.53)inches, Mudon (4.21)inches, Manaung (4.09)inches, Hpa-an

(3.94)inches, Chaungsone (3.58)inches, Thaton (3.39)inches, Kawkayeit

(3.23)inches, Machanbaw (3.15)inches, Mawlamyine (3.11)inches,

Kyeikkhame (3.07)inches, Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Yay  (2.95)inches

each, Belin (2.52)inches, Myeik (2.44)inches, Halingbwe (2.24)inches,

Phyu and Launglone (2.13)inches each, Thandwe (2.05)inches, Kyaukpyu

(1.93)inches, Naypyitaw (Zabuthiri and Dakhinathiri) (1.81)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay

and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 14th August, 2016: Rain or

thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper

Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Chin and

Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with

likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Kayin and Mon States and isolated

heavy falls in Napyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin

and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough sea will be experienced

Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind

speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Moderate to rough sea elsewhere in

Myanmar water.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain

in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Kayin and Mon States.
